It’s been almost sixteen years to the day since Sushi Dan first opened her doors to the public. And if you know Los Angeles like we do, you know that sixteen years can be a long time in Tinseltown!
So how have we, a small business, managed to compete in the cutthroat, flash in the pan environment that is Hollywood? Well, here at Sushi Dan, we believe the answer is simple. We just never, ever compromise. We create our top of the line sushi and sashimi dishes using only the highest grade natural ingredients prepared with only the highest grade cooking materials. You see, cutting corners has just never really been our thing.
Our restaurant owner Michelle, Korean born and Tokyo raised, developed her passion for Asian cuisine as a child by observing her Grandmother in the kitchen. Since relocating to Los Angeles she has retained her respect for the old world methods both when it comes to cooking and indeed, to customer service.
In a city awash with of the moment hotspots, flashy gimmicks and bombastic marketing ploys, we at Sushi Dan like to do things a little differently. Yes , we have attracted our fair share ofhousehold names. Don't be surprised to see some celebrities and well-known faces while you're dining in Sushi Dan. Yes, there have been times when strong word of mouth has resulted in long lines of new and returning customers. Yes, we’ve even been featured on ABC news as one of the ‘top restaurants in studio city’ (and don’t get us wrong, we love it all!). But what’s really, really important to us here at Sushi Dan? Well……it’s you.
Because since opening our doors in 2001, we’ve seen families come back to us time and time again. Throughout those years we’ve seen children grow into young men and women. Many of our customers have made Sushi Dan a mainstay in their lives and that, above all else, has made us proud.
So come and join us. Bring your family, bring your friends or hey, just bring yourself! Try our renowned sushi and sashimi creations, our mouthwatering desserts or our selection of fine wines, beers and sake.
We’d be delighted to have you.
